Summary

This is a key security role that is responsible for the overall architecture and supporting standards of the security platforms, processes and organizational design. The candidate will help design BCU's security strategy, policy, risk mitigation, and controls as it relates to BCU's networks and system solutions. This role will include validation and approval of security products and services offered to our employees/members. This role will also engage as needed with internal departments and senior leaders.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design security platforms, processes and organizations that enforce security policies and controls.
• Advise management on the multi-year security roadmap aligned with continually reducing security risk.
• Develop high level solutions, estimates and plans for security initiatives.
• Review and design security products and services.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of security polices, risk frameworks and key metrics.
• Define and document standard for secure operations across BCU.
• Design technical control standards for a variety of information systems based on industry best practices and guidelines. (e.g., NIST CSF, CSA, CIS, OWASP)
• Recommend specific control sets to mitigate inherent risk identified through cybersecurity risk assessments. Provide technical expertise to guide security risk assessments as needed.
• Coordinate with management and BCP/DR Lead to ensure cybersecurity control design is informed by current threat intelligence and incident response.
• Enhance security team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
• Identify any security gaps and policy exceptions in our network architecture.
• Participate in process of vendor selection and implementation of network security products, such as firewalls, SIEM, intrusion detection systems, etc. in close collaboration with network operations team.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely information in response to audits and regulatory exams.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze security or to troubleshoot security product issues with applications or platforms.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of security polices, risk frameworks and key metrics.
• Answering technical and procedural questions for team members.
• Assist with documentation on security requirements for VPNs, IDS/IPS, firewalls, jump hosts, etc.
• Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies; researching information Security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture and platforms.
• Remain up to date with the latest security technologies, standards, and regulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/or related field or 10-15 years' experience in information security.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in security solution architecture.
• Experience in cyber security design, implementation and configuration in the technology areas like Firewall Management, IDS/IPS, and Proxy.
• Microsoft Azure experience, specifically with Blob Storage, NSG, UDR, Logging, Event Hubs, Azure AD, DNS, Load Balancing, Web Applications, Azure SQL, Azure firewall on all of the platforms of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Microsoft Azure Security Center experience with analyzation, reporting, remediation, best practices, and research of expanded feature sets.
• Microsoft Azure DevOps experience for project and task management.
• Ability to identify security or data risk using appropriate policies and/or frameworks.
• Understand security technologies and how they integrate with each other, such as firewalls, SIEM, PAM, IAM, IDS/IPS, WAFs, Desktop/Server agents, Azure Defender, AV, Anti-Spam/AV email protection, and more.
• An understanding of DevOps Security.
• An understanding of SSL/TLS Certificates.
• Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
• Strong understanding of applicable business systems, industry trends and of layered/security in depth principles.
• Familiar with standard IT and Security concepts, practices, and procedure.
• Good working knowledge of security and compliance regulations.
• Ability to learn independently and proactively.
• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Advance troubleshooting/implementation experience in working on Checkpoint/Palo Alto firewalls.
• Strong overall communication skills.
• Ability to interact with executives, C-suite and board members.
• Ability to lead through influencing.
