BI Data Architect

At Simplebet we treat data as a product - we maintain high quality datasets used by our machine learning engineers, product analysts, and adjacent software teams. 

As we grow our business to cover new sports, new betting markets, and new sportsbook partners, Simplebet is looking for a Business Intelligence Data Architect to define and implement the roadmap for enhancing and maintaining the data within our Data Platform to deliver high quality and robust data to enable analytics and decision making across the company. As a member of the Analytics team within the Product organization, the BI Data Architect will work collaboratively across Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to ensure the company is equipped with the data necessary to perform product and customer analytics. Working with live and historical sports and betting data, you will identify the data needed to support prioritized initiatives, and define the data models, data management, data governance and data quality programs needed to enable data democratization, deliver actionable insights and make data-informed decisions possible. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating cross-functionally, prioritize and define requirements for data needed from internal and external sources to support analytics and decision making.
• Work with engineering teams to capture and deliver required data to the Data Platform while also meeting multi-dimensional standards for data quality.
• Lead the definition of a Unified Data Model that serves as the foundation for the single source of truth for all product, customer and reference data used for BI & analytics.
• Prioritize and facilitate development of data products and tooling for our internal customers who need data for analytics including product, analytics, engineering, sales, marketing, and finance.
• Define ELT/ETL requirements and source to target mappings.
• Define and ensure required data standards are implemented and maintained.
• Define, implement and maintain a data quality program.
• Create and maintain documentation including business glossary, data dictionary, data catalog and data lineage.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data product management, data engineering, data architecture, analytics, and/or developing data & analytics products.
• Experience managing or contributing to an enterprise data strategy that yields high-quality and robust data to support actionable insights and business decision making.
• Experience with Data Modeling for BI & Analytics.
• Demonstrated history of solving complex problems involving data and technology.
• Experience working with product and engineering teams using an agile framework to prioritize scope, and acquire & integrate new data sources.
• Experience working with streaming data for analytics is a plus.
• Advanced SQL skills; Databricks experience a plus.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.
