BI Data Engineer, Lead - NATIONWIDE REMOTE Summary:

The Lead BI Data Engineer is responsible for analyzing, articulating, and understanding complex data architectures and transforms them into new patterns which enable enterprise data and analytics across multiple business domains. This role will also design and provide guidance for building scalable data platforms extend the capabilities of our business stakeholders in their unique data and analytics initiatives. The incumbent will apply broad, advanced technical knowledge and project management principals and concepts to large projects, contribute on new concepts and ideas, and identify and implement on-going process improvement initiatives. Typically, the Lead BI Data Engineer is given the most challenging assignments and provides the top technical leadership role on programs and large projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Analyze, Design, Develop, and model new and complex data sources from across the Firm
• Designs and maintains systems solutions that connect internal and external data sets
• Creates new data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data
• Provide strategic technical guidance and advice to both business and IT teams across multiple portfolios, assist with stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with business objectives as well as maintaining project team
• Mentor Data Engineers, and members of other disciplines, including business users, in the technical skills and processes necessary to be provide a foundational data and analytics solutions
• Manage technical project risks and issues
• Recognize and determine the appropriate corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or similar education
• Or experience within application development required

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:

• Experience with data ETL using tools like SQL packages, SSIS, SQL Sprocs required
• Web-based development skills preferred
• Comfort communicating equally well with business and IT partners required
• Strong knowledge of modern BI tools, SQL, SSIS, and/or Azure Data Factory is required

EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years in IT career required
• 4+ years in working on complex Data Warehousing solutions required
• 3+ years of experience with cloud data and analytics platforms required
• Knowledge/Experience with one or more Azure Data Platform technologies (Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks and Synapse) preferred
• Experience collecting technical requirements preferred
