BI Reporting Specialist

Wowza Media Systems is seeking a Data Operations & Reporting Specialist to administer Wowza’s internal data collection and reporting methods in order to deliver key business insights and guidance for the highest-level company priorities. Operating in a small team, you will identify and execute scaled reporting mechanics and work through a complex, large scale business data environment.

In this role you will work across Wowza’s complex business landscape as you create efficient and scalable reporting mechanics and play a critical role in architecting methods, procedures and tools for Wowza’s data operations program. You will own business data reporting end-to-end, be the data steward for our reporting tools and methodologies and work with cross functional business leaders to identify areas of opportunity to drive incremental value creation. 

You are capable of querying large databases, blending data, streamlining reports, and figuring out creative ways to get projects across the finish line. 

What you will be doing: 

• Program manage cross functional projects relating to data management and reporting 
• Provide strong problem solving thought leadership and curiosity for complex and ambiguous problems 
• Communicate findings and deliver key takeaways and guidance to business stakeholders and department leaders 
• Act as business data SME and lead cross-functional activities to improve data transparency, quality and reporting efficiency within and between disparate sources. 

Requirements

Experience we'd like you to have: 

Minimum qualifications: 

• BA/BS degree in data science, data engineering, database administration or equivalent experience 
• Familiar working with large data sets and analytical tools, including database languages like SQL 
• Exceptional skills using tools like Excel expert and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau 
• Strong familiarity with database structures and big data environments 
• Self-motivated, naturally curious and able to formulate hypotheses, design tests, and drive measurable results 
• Excellent attention to detail, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to deal with competing priorities and ambiguity 

Preferred qualifications: 

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in fast paced, technical environment (technology / software industry preferred) 
• Business intelligence, data science, database administration or data engineering 

• Early stage company experience 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be personable yet persistent. 

This person should be located in the Denver area and able to work a hybrid office/remote schedule.

Benefits

Salary: $70,000-$90,000

Bonus eligible

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
