BI & Reporting Specialist

Position Overview:
BI & Reporting Specialists provide Member/Customer support for reporting/business intelligence needs and also develop and maintain reports/visualizations. Customer service and trouble-shooting skills are required. Success requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers clearly and effectively as well as proficiency with querying and presenting data in reports/visualizations. This role focuses on developing a firm foundation within one or more products in NISC’s enterprise as well as mastering the fundamentals of NISC’s reporting/business intelligence tools.
Essential Functions:
- Provide superior telephone and CRM support for Members/Customers both internal and external.
- Troubleshoot and analyze reports/visualizations of basic level complexity.
- Troubleshoot and analyze SQL queries and database objects of basic level complexity.
- Participate in requirements and design discussions with stakeholders on reports and visualizations of basic level complexity.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, research, and resolve basic reports and visualizations in an effort to empower Members in their report writing efforts.
- Accurately estimate effort for reports/visualizations of basic level complexity.
- Plan, prioritize, monitor, and complete assigned projects.
- Create and provide step-by-step documentation of processes as needed for end users.

Desired Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide telephone and CRM support for Members/Customers both internal and external.
- Working level knowledge of BI reporting tools and concepts including relational databases and database programming language.
- Moderate level knowledge of industry-leading BI & Reporting solutions.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative & accountability.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Basic level ability to set and manage internal and external Member/Customer expectations.
- Moderate level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.
- Basic level knowledge of the Utility or Telecom industries.
- Basic level presentation and training skills.
- Basic level facilitation skills
- Basic ability to organize and prioritize.
- Basic level knowledge of data transfer functionality.
- Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
