The Data and Insights team is looking for a talented candidate to lead the effort of taking our data infrastructure to the next level. Real time data ingestion and usage, migration of on prem processes to Cloud, commercialising data solutions are only some of the topics you will be facing on our journey towards a new data platform.
Key Responsibilities

Develop ETL workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and processing, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Optimize existing data pipelines and systems to enhance performance and reduce costs.

Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data architectures and pipelines using AWS services, Snowflake and Airflow/Astronomer.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data pipelines and infrastructure.

Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within cloud environments.

Mentor and line manage a small team.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient data solutions.

Document processes, system architectures, and workflows.
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications
Essential
-
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
-
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
-
Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying.
-
Understanding modern data architecture principles, including data lakes and lakehouses.
-
Demonstrable experience in cloud-based data architectures
-
Experience in Snowflake or other cloud Data Analytics services (Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery etc)
-
Experience in Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Luigi etc.
Desirable
-
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python)
-
Exposure to real-time streaming (Apache Kafka)
-
Knowledge of data visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau.

Familiarity with SSAS and DAX
Skills
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
-
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must.

Ability to work independently but also lead a team of data engineers.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to learn and stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering.
