The Bilingual Service Care Coordinator is responsible for providing compassionate customer service and issue resolution to our members. Direct phone - based customer interaction to answer and resolve a wide variety of inquiries. This role is responsible for coordination of member navigation plans via our PCP providers and ACO members. In this role you will support clinical and non-clinical staff supporting members enrolled in UFP & GBUAHN

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet patients in a courteous manner on the phone and in person
  • Make appointments on the phone and in person
  • Answer phones- maintain a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  • Verify medical insurance eligibility
  • Ensure proper authorization or referral is obtained from the patient
  • Checkout patients, collect copays, schedule patient appointments
  • Facilitate patient flow by efficient checkout of patients- schedule follow up appointments, testing, and referrals
  • Respond to patients', prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner
  • Call patients to confirm upcoming appointments and verify demographic information required of the patient at the time of the appointment
  • Obtain referrals from referring physicians and insurances for visits
  • Place follow up phone calls to no-show appointments ; reschedule as needed

This is high volume, customer service environment. You’ll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. Strong computer and software navigation skills are critical. You should also be strongly patient-focused and adaptable to changes.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of combined education, work and/or volunteer experience
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health Care/Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design)
  • Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change (working with vulnerable populations)
