Notified is adding a Bilingual (EN/FR) Public Relations Services Supervisor to the Editorial team. Applicants with newswire experience will be highly considered.
Work Schedule:
- Remote: Greater Quebec, Canada
- Hybrid: Toronto, Canada, Chicago, IL, USA & El Segundo, CA, USA
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in the office with the option of working remotely on Monday & Friday.
Job Shift:
3:00p - 11:30p ET, Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
The Supervisor will be in charge of running the editorial desk and making sure the operation runs smoothly. They will work within a management team to ensure Editors are performing well, our clients' needs are met and to be a main point of escalation.
Essential Duties:
- Be a main point of escalation for client questions and concerns. Editors are the first point of reference for issues, but these will be escalated to the Supervisor if needed.
- Be a main point of escalation for editor questions and concerns. Editors will typically try and solve problems on their own first but will come to the Supervisor if further help/advice is needed.
- Ensure our 24/7 staffing needs are met. This means ensuring there are no schedule gaps due to call outs or vacations.
- Ensure the editorial desk runs smoothly. This means making sure releases/emails/phone calls are being claimed in a timely manner.
- Work with direct reports to ensure they are growing and thriving within the organization. Supervisors will have direct reports and are involved in the growth, training and mentorship of the employee.
- Review clients' press releases for grammatical and spelling errors and inconsistencies. Does not involve fact-checking.
- Format press releases to match the client's original version as closely as possible.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email.
- Based on area of responsibility, assist with our clients' regulatory needs, such as SEDAR and EDGAR filing.
- Assist with our clients' account maintenance, such as managing email lists, adding new users and accounts, and managing multimedia libraries.
- Knowledge of other Notified Products/Packages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field required.
- 2-3 years of professional experience required (previous newswire experience a plus).
- Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment required.
- Proven leadership skills required.

- Flexible scheduling, the ability to work overtime and weekend on-call is required.
- Projects self-confidence, enthusiasm, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- The ability to maintain focus in stressful situations.
- Exceptional time-management skills, ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of PR and IR workflow.
