Guild is hiring for a Bilingual Growth Coach who is fluent in both written and verbal English and Spanish. As a Growth Coach, you unlock potential in our learners. Guild strives to support the journeys of millions of working adult learners, and our team is accountable for measurable success for those learners. As a part of a team building a world-class experience, you will be coaching and supporting learners from across the country, helping them navigate the challenges of work, school, and life as they pursue education programs in an online setting.
Our learners are the center of what we do — we listen to them, advocate on their behalf, and make decisions with them in mind. Reflecting on this principle, we provide a robust coaching experience for our learners. Our proprietary Coaching Certification is based on established coaching best practices, and all Guild coaches are internally trained and certified to ensure a quality experience for our learners.
As a Bilingual Growth Coach, you will:
- Coach your learners in English and Spanish, adhering to Guild’s Core Coaching Beliefs
- Build and manage supportive, welcoming, and inclusive coaching relationships with a diverse group of online learners primarily through synchronous phone communications, supported by email and text messaging
- Use empathy and deep listening skills to create space for learners to explore and discover their goals and strengths. Coaches will help learners navigate systems, plan, set goals, and create an environment for self-empowerment during their educational journey
- Provide a judgment-free experience for learners, recognizing each student as a whole person, and understanding their unique, diverse experiences and backgrounds as relevant and necessary to guide them toward their goals
- Manage the operational elements of your caseload of +200 active learners in a consistent and effective manner
- Create and maintain effective communication strategies for your learner that demonstrate that they are valued and supported, and that establish and maintain engaging relationships with them
- Use business tools and systems (CRM, contact center software, data dashboards) to outreach and retain learners as coaching clients, maintaining high levels of engagement and satisfaction
- Learn and follow established processes and procedures, performing your day-to-day job duties without compliance issues
- Learn Guild’s proprietary coaching techniques, and improve your coaching capability through ongoing learning and development
- Complete Guild’s ~12 week coaching training and certification process to become a certified Guild Coach
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of effective coaching and communication techniques, tools, and frameworks to further refine your ability to help your learners to succeed
- Collaborate with the teammates and manager on any additional or as-needed projects that increase our effectiveness and efficiency as coaches
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
Required Competencies
- Fluency in both written and verbal English and Spanish communication
- Commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment
- Ability to proactively and consistently develop and maintain strong relationships with learners and teammatesÂ
- Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to adjust your style across a diverse set of conversations and individuals
- Basic technical literacy, enabling you to learn new tools and systems that we use to coach our learners
- Attention to detail and process, demonstrating your ability to adhere to data-driven procedures and to understand high-level business insights
- Natural curiosity and desire to learn new skills, explore new ideas, and take an individual and independent approach to learning, problem-solving, self-monitoring, and self-correctingÂ
Preferred Competencies
- 2+ years of experience in a role in which coaching, developing and building relationships, or supporting individuals one-on-one is a primary function
- Experience in an environment where there is frequent change and a need to demonstrate and act with a sense of urgency
- Experience in a contact center environment or other environments in which you have regularly been accountable to metrics, learning new tools, and managing your own systems
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including an hourly rate starting at $25/hour, as well as company stock options. (Following certification of our proprietary training program, Growth Coaches’ hourly rate will increase to $26.44/hour.) The Growth Coach role has a salary range of $52,000 - $60,000; Bilingual Growth coaches are awarded an additional $2,000 to their salary for as long as they are in a Bilingual role.
