Current Media Group, LLC is seeking a Bilingual HR Generalist to support the Human Resources functions reporting to the Human Resources Director.

The HR Generalist position is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with a pay range between $55, 000 to $60, 000, depending upon experience. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the recruiting process, including sourcing non-exempt and exempt candidates, screen and interview candidates, job postings, reference checks, background checks, & offers of employment.
  • Work with staffing agencies to hire supplemental staff.
  • Manage Payroll and auditing to ensure accuracy.
  • Support employees by providing answers to questions regarding policies, payroll, benefits, compensation, etc.
  • Assist with processing and administrating all leave of absences, including FMLA, personal, and disability.
  • Support and assist with planning of company events, engagement activities, newsletter, job fairs and wellness initiatives.
  • Assist with employee benefit annual enrollment and plan changes, and schedule and deliver meetings designed to help employees better understand benefits.
  • Manage requests for unemployment claims, employment verifications, etc.
  • Assist with worker’s compensation, report of injury, and claim maintenance
  • Provide new hires with orientation, security badge, safety equipment, and necessary training.
  • Assist HR Director with employee relations, disciplinary actions, and exit interviews.
  • Maintain office supplies and print/activate/deactivate security badges.
  • Adhere to all federal/state/local regulations.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 2 years of human resources experience
  • Able to speak, understand, and write in English and Spanish
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with all levels in a diverse workforce.
  • Computer experience in HRIS systems, as well as a variety of web-based platforms, and have MS Office proficiency, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with tact and discretion.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities; ability to function effectively in a busy work environment.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure under pressure and challenging situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR related field
  • Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations
  • 5+ years of human resources experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with safety programs, completing OHSA logs and audits
