Job Description

As a Billing Coordinator at SmartRent, you will play an important role in ensuring that our billing, cash application, and overall accounts receivable operations are functioning in an effective and efficient manner. You will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services for our growing enterprise business in addition to outstanding customer service. Overall, this Billing Coordinator position has a special focus on cash application duties. You will report to our Manager, Accounts Receivable and join our small and nimble Accounts Receivable team in our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Apply daily customer payments and process deposits in the form of checks and ACH transactions
  • Process our lockbox report and mass upload payments within the system
  • Process key customers remit spreadsheet following the noted processes
  • Work within our ticketing system to get remit details for ACH payments
  • Communicate with customers as needed to ensure cash application is processed correctly
  • Coordinate with internal team members who manage the bank reconciliations to ensure that we have all payments applied appropriately
  • Respond to and resolve clients’ payment issues and questions within our ticketing system
  • Maintain required documentation and reporting as per company policy
  • Assist with ad hoc special projects as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Cash Application Specialist, Billing Coordinator, or similar role within an accounting department
  • Experience working in a semi-manual environment
  • General understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dynamic, innovative, and problem resolution focused
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient data entry skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or Jira software solutions
  • Experience with Excel and GSuite

NOTE: Must be willing to work out of our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters on a hybrid schedule.
