About the Role
As the Billing Manager, you will be directly responsible for the billing process from order to invoice including all processes and system improvements. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to build reporting process from the ground up, help develop accounting procedures. This high impact role requires a passionate leader with a team player attitude. This position reports directly to our Controller.
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues. This position also requires collaboration with operations and development teams as well as serving customer and vendor needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring invoices for customers are effectively processed
- Understanding customer requirements, pricing, and systems to execute timely and accurate invoice submissions
- Payments are processed on a timely basis
- Executing collection efforts to ensure timely payments
- Ensuring up-to-date status of each account
- Initiating appropriate actions on accounts with significant past due balances
- Monitoring the quality/quantity of work performed by employees
- Lead preparation of annual 1099 and other AP compliance reporting requirements
- Own the vendor on-boarding procedures and the required tax forms
- Be responsible for supporting accurate and timely completion of AP/AR month-end closing process, perform monthly AP/AR related balance sheet account reconciliations
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Prior experience in technology, professional services, Software as a Service, Platform or other high growth companies preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years' management experience, preferably in accounts receivable with collections.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint
- NetSuite experience is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities, and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
- History of teamwork and willingness to dive-in to get the job done
- Intellectually curious, creative, and collaborative
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Compensation: $100-120K
