As an Operations Billing Specialist, you will be part of the Billing Operations team at Gas South that handles the behind-the-scenes tasks required to bill over 450,000 customers each month. Ultimately, you will help ensure that our customers are billed accurately and on time.

Your primary responsibility will be to leverage the various billing processes and systems at Gas South to create bills for accounts that failed to be created automatically. While this often involves diagnosing and fixing individual accounts, it will also include executing various bill creation processes. Additionally, with your system and billing knowledge, you will help oversee the automated bill creation processes, ensuring that the system is creating bills correctly and that we are effectively leveraging its capabilities.

You are a successful candidate for this role if you are a quick learner and can multitask throughout the day based on the changing needs and priorities of the business. You will need strong self-management skills, specifically around managing your time and prioritizing your work. Your attention to detail and ability to problem-solve should be some of your strongest skills. You will need to execute assignments with limited oversight, validate your own work, and demonstrate an understanding of the relation of your job with the larger business.

Other Stuff we like:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree or some college experience preferred
  • Experience with a Customer Information Systems (CIS) is a plus, especially with Gas South’s (Oracle’s Customer Cloud Service) and the Georgia Customer Management Application (GCMA) Marketer Portal
  • Prefer experience and understanding of Gas South’s billing practices
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute

More details on what you would be responsible for:

  • Process and resolve billing exceptions for all segments served by Gas South
  • Respond to billing related email requests from internal customers
  • Execute any manual billing processes required for certain segments of our customers
  • Perform QA of billing processes and bill presentation
  • Work on various reports to ensure Gas South records are updated with the latest reads, pass-through charges, tax exceptions, etc.
  • Execute routine operations processes
  • Support overflow work from Customer Care

Pay range is commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills or certifications, etc.
