ROLE

We are looking for a motivated Billing Specialist.  You will work directly with the Finance and Project Operations teams to improve the overall billing experience for our Homeowners and Contractors. You will collect on invoices and be a strategic thought-partner in implementing improvements to our billing processes at Block. We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit with a rollup your sleeves type attitude.

This role will comprise of 3 components:

External Communications: You will interact frequently with Homeowners and Contractors to answer questions and troubleshoot issues related to payments and financing. 

Invoice Processing: You will process invoices making sure Block is paid on time by Homeowners and Contractors.

Process Optimization: You will help us set payment standards and improve the overall billing experience for both the Homeowner and Contractor. You may occasionally work in tandem with the Product team to productize and improve our billing experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process homeowner and contractor invoices in coordination with the Project Operations team
• Troubleshoot technical payments issues
• Respond to Homeowners’ and Contractors’ payment-related questions
• Educate and advise Homeowners on financing options
• Oversee payment platform implementation
• Pitch and implement payments process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in project management, accounting or finance
• Intellectually curious, highly detail oriented, and enjoys solving problems from an analytical perspective
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - comfortable working with key stakeholders and business leaders across the organization
• Enjoys speaking with external stakeholders
• Ability to work in an unstructured environment and willing to work independently with minimal guidance
