Job Description

The operator will manage process orders from start to finish, recording all important details. This includes adding materials in the correct amounts and at the right times, monitoring temperatures, mixtures, and chemical reactions, and taking samples at scheduled times to ensure consistent, high-quality batches. Once the batch passes quality control, the operator will package the finished product properly.

Responsibilities:

• Record Data & Follow Orders: Accurately record batch data and submit to the shift leader to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Operate Equipment: Efficiently run PLCs, recipe systems, and equipment, adding raw materials and monitoring temperatures to complete quality batches on schedule. Minimize scrap and rework.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve equipment or process problems to prevent production delays or material loss. Communicate with team and maintenance when needed.
• Correct Nonconformance: Take immediate corrective action if batch quality or process standards are not met.
• Operate Forklift Safely: Use forklift carefully to prevent damage to inventory and avoid accidents.
• Follow Safety Procedures: Wear required safety equipment and follow Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines.
• Report Safety Concerns: Immediately report unsafe conditions or accidents and take action to protect yourself and others.
• Support Quality Standards: Understand and follow quality control procedures and initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English for operating machines, using PLC control screens, and completing process orders and safety tests.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate automated packaging equipment.
• Ability to work safely with chemicals and machinery.
• Physical strength and flexibility to bend, lift, pull, push, and climb.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive thinking and ability to prepare for upcoming tasks.
