Board Relations and Events Specialist

Job Summary
The Board Relations Specialist provides support to The Aerospace Corporation's Board of Trustees and executive leadership. Reporting to the Manger, Office of the Corporate Secretary (OCS), the Specialist contributes to the coordination, facilitation, and recording of activities of the board and its committees. This position is primarily responsible for all event planning and logistics related to quarterly board of trustee meetings. It also collaborates closely with internal and external partners to implement best practices in board governance and identifies innovations that advance customer priorities.
This role demands a high level of professionalism, acute attention to detail, and well-developed discretion to handle highly confidential information. The Specialist must communicate effectively orally and in writing and must have the interpersonal skills to serve as a trusted resource for individuals at all levels, including senior executives and trustees.
Workplace Model
This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in El Segundo, California.
What You'll Be Doing
- Research, plan, and implement all aspects of quarterly Board Meetings and related events including lodging, catering, transportation, and other events logistics.
- Manage and maintain vendor and venue relationships, contracts, and logistics.
- Draft and prepare (print and virtual) all correspondence on behalf of Office of General Counsel (OGC) / Office of Corporate Secretary (OCS) in preparation and support of the quarterly Board of Trustees Meetings.
- Apply technological and strategic knowledge to guide and improve board meeting processes, preparation, and execution.
- Collaborate and provide cross-functional support to colleagues in the OCS department.
- Take initiative to solve problems independently with autonomy to positively impact the productivity and efficiency of OGC/OSC.
- Represent and act as liaison of OGC/OCS with Board of Trustees, as well as corporate management, various levels of internal management, government customers, and other high-level officials.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
- Years of Experience:
- Specialist II - three or more years of relevant experience
- Specialist III - six or more years of relevant experience
- Experience with hospitality industry and planning / executing high-visible corporate events
- Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule at times and work tight deadlines, including evenings associated with board meeting required
- Ability to travel to offsite board meetings and conferences several times per year required
- Mastery of communication & interpersonal skills: leadership, collaboration, resiliency, strategic thinking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, judgment, business acumen, and decision making, across all levels of the organization
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information appropriately; demonstrate honesty, integrity, and trust-building behaviors
- Ability to thrive in fast paced team environment and shift priorities quickly while working under tight deadlines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Previous Board relations / logistics experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- A current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government is highly preferred. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
(Min - Mid - Max)
$65,000.00 - $82,500.00 - $100,000.00
Pay Basis: Hourly
