Booking Producer

This is an on-site role. To be considered for this role candidates must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance to NYC.
The Booking Producer will join a capable and experienced team of booking producers for Yahoo Finance Live. The Booking Producer is responsible for seeking out potential show guests, with a strong contact list, always building relationships with publicists and communications directors, and securing interviews for broadcast. Booking Producer communicates with talent and show producers on booking for our daily live shows as well as key programs like Influencers with Andy Serwer and Yahoo Finance Presents. This role belongs to a team player who will go after the hard bookings and celebrate all booking wins with the team. The ability to work under tight deadlines is a must.
Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of bookers and help coordinate bookings across Yahoo Finance Live
• Work with the Show leadership and other Yahoo Finance staff to find and secure newsworthy guests
• Develop and create high-quality content that uses best-in-class digital shooting and production methods and is optimized for an online audience. Then work to improve the efficacy of the video produced for an online audience including writing articles and working with Yahoo Finance's social media team on promotion.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed

A Lot About You:

• A qualified candidate for this position must have 2-3 years of news production experience with proven performance in booking guests
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
• Research skills are essential to this position
• Individual must be able to multitask efficiently, execute quickly, think broadly, and have strong editorial awareness and judgment
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential to this role
• Must be able to work a flexible/extended schedule as needed, under deadlines on both field shoots and in a studio/office environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Booking guests across Finance, News, Politics, Entertainment
• Ability to be on-site at our NYC office Monday- Friday
• Strong contacts and good references within the Booking community
• Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Able to extract and analyze data as part of a daily effort to refine and improve video production processes

• A flexible producer who is equally at ease working under deadlines on both live, production, field shoots, and in a studio/office environment
• A creative thinker that likes to conceptualize new ideas and pitches stories
