We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at GoodUnited, the premier provider of fundraising solutions for social networks, catering to US 501(c)(3) organizations.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in managing our day-to-day accounting, compliance, and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and be a team player.
What does a Bookkeeper do at GoodUnited?:
- Maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner.
- Assist with budget preparation and budget forecasts.
- Work with the Operations VP to create financial reports for management or regulatory bodies.
- Assist with tax preparation and filing.
- Manage and run payroll.
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
What experience and skills does a Bookkeeper need to be successful here?:
- 3-5 years previous meaningful bookkeeping experience at a growth-focused Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business
- Proven experience of being a self-starter and managing up
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office, with a high degree of familiarity with QuickBooks and bill.com.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
- Certification in bookkeeping is a plus.
