About the Job:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our finance team as a Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of our company, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Job Duties:
- Process and verify bills, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies
- Maintain vendor relationships, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly
- Prepare and perform scheduled payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding balances
- Assist in month-end closing procedures, including accruals and reconciliations
- Accurately record accounts payable transactions
- Generate and send invoices to clients accurately and on time
- Follow up on outstanding payments and communicate with clients regarding overdue accounts
- Assist with state sales tax filings
- Record and allocate incoming payments accurately within the accounting system
- Record and process expense reimbursements according to company guidelines
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work closely with the sales and client services teams to address client inquiries and resolve billing issues
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations related to accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience required
- Experience with entertainment industry accounting practices preferred
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit or stand for the duration of the workday
- Able to use a keyboard and computer monitor for the duration of the workday
- Able to use a phone/headset for calls as needed
