What You'll Do

As a B&P Customer Specialist 2 on the Exclusive Partner Team, you'll be the primary contact responding to inquiries by phone and email from our exclusive partners, applying skills and procedures to provide a high level of value and service while creating effective working relationships with our customers. You'll be consistently learning while having a rich variety in the work you do, which includes:

  • Utilizing online procedural manuals and system applications to effectively interpret and resolve customer inquiries and provide clear and accurate information and education to promote understanding of product and services.
  • Educating customers regarding online resources available to promote self-service for most efficient access to information and increased transaction efficiencies.
  • Serving as a SME on key administrative processes including billing options, eligibility processes, reconciliation/audit of billing statement, and assisting with other complex customer issues.
  • Using problem-solving skills and in-depth product knowledge to identify process improvement opportunities which promote cost effective service delivery.
  • Providing service which meet established compliance and state regulatory requirements. Performing other job-related duties or special projects as required.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • Ability to develop a broad understanding of insurance operations, products and concepts across all lines.
  • Strong computer skills, aptitude, and proficiency at keyboarding.
  • Potential to build positive relationships with diverse internal and external distribution channels, make quick judgements, and respond to difficult situations that requires tact and discretion.
  • Good decision-making when working on complex casework and making exceptions during new business processing.
  • Ability to prioritize work while maintaining service standards in the face of peak times, heavy workloads and with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and multi-tasking skills in a fast paced, changing environment with high accuracy and within established turnaround times.
  • Effective team member and a positive influence within the organization.
  • Compass experience is a plus, but is not required.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$18.39 - $35.19 / hour

Time Off Program

Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
