Job Description
The Brand Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of internal and external intellectual property brands and their positioning across the core games at SciPlay. This individual will work centrally across our game, marketing, business development and finance teams to advance and grow our brand strategy across the portfolio. This individual will be responsible for generating new and existing brand negotiations with external partners, manage quarterly and annual business reviews, consult and format licensing terms and proposals that are in the best interest of both parties. This position will work closely with our brand partners within the Light and Wonder organization and be a key contributor to analyzing and measuring the financial impact of brand usage across the SciPlay portfolio. This role will report to the Director, Slot Performance and Strategy and will collaborate on new initiatives to take our content to the next level while learning and leveraging our strengths against other social gaming competitors in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:Â Â
New Brands
· Source new brand opportunities in partnership with LnW
· Evaluate and analyze new brands to understand if it fits the overall SciPlay strategy in liaison with the internal brand committee.
· Work with Business Development and Finance departments to model and forecast potential brand performance for MG negotiation and future royalty agreements.
· Negotiate brand terms and agreement in partnership with LnW
· Ensure that social terms are prioritized and part of the broader company negotiations with LnW
· Act as the “brand ambassador” in partnership with the business development team
Existing Brands
· Work hand in hand with licenses to provide game and marketing teams with creative output direction and approvals
· Liaison with slot dev, game teams and marketing on LNW brand requirements
· Provide strategic direction for development of licensed branded assets with corresponding guidelines (do’s and don'ts)
· Maintain relationships with existing licensors, meeting them in person routinely throughout the year
· Track performance of existing brand against MG and report to licensor (cadence as per agreements)
· Maintain brand pages on confluence with current best practices, updated legal lines, etc.
· Track license expirations and work with teams to remove expired license slots, music and video clip expirations to avoid fines and lawsuits
· Participate in the Licensing Steering Committee (all BUs) to strategize acquisition of new licenses
· Inform slot strategy and game teams on potential increase or decrease usage of brands
· Forecast royalties by partner throughout the year to ensure we get close to the annual MG
· Provide reporting data on KPIs and slot performance to licensors
· Manage and conduct QBRs for select brand partners
· Manage and conduct monthly calls for select brand partners
· Monthly performance report and summary emails for select brand partner
Requirements
Required Qualifications:Â
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
· Must be passionate about brand management and have a strong desire to make a big impact.Â
· Must be motivated to win!
· 3+ years relevant experience
Needed Experience: Â
· Experience in gaming, social, online casino, or consumer mobile live service products.Â
· Must have experience negotiating minimum guarantees and tracking financial usage.
· PLUS: Directly contributed to managing highly recognizable brands within the gaming space.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesÂ
· Expert with Excel/Google Sheets/Powerpoint/Google SlidesÂ
· Strong understanding of slot data and must be proficient in TableauÂ
· Understanding of forecasting and measuring ROI
· Ability to build and manage a future roadmap of products
· Critical Thinking and Creative Problem SolvingÂ
· Ability to develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with Developers, QA, Analysts and Producers.Â
· Excellent Organizational skillsÂ
· Strong starter who can quickly get up to speed on new markets and products.Â
· Strong affinity for understanding target audience needs and spender priorities.Â
