Job Summary

The Brand Project Manager acts as the right hand to the VP of Creative design, working across all creative projects for the brand. Acting as the project lead from conception through to fruition, with a strategic mind they ideate with the VP of Creative design on all things Shinola.

The Brand Project Manager is someone who is self-driven, organized and collaborative, you do your best work when you’re busy. You thrive in process and seeing creative ideas follow through to execution. You are organized and detailed to a fault with the ability to get things done. Innately curious, eager to work in a fast-paced environment, and be someone who can quickly jump in, figure out workflow organizational processed and ensure that workflow runs smoothly and efficiently. They will work closely with cross-functional partners in creative, e-commerce, marketing, and wholesale teams.

Key Responsibilities 

Project Management

  • Manage assigned projects, ensuring successful project completion against deadlines
    Manage process calendar for the development of products and campaigns from concept to creation
  • Fulfill all meeting requirements to ensure 100% buy-in and understanding to achieve the required objective
  • Serve as a gatekeeper by working with cross-functional partners to control the inflow and outflow of projects and deliverables.

Research

  • Support the VP of Creative design with ongoing research throughout the year as requested
  • Keep up to date on all events, exhibitions, photographers, and creatives in Detroit constantly keeping up-to-date with the local community

Administrative Support

  • Calendar management -- Responsible for managing the VP of Creative Design’s day-to-day schedule, ensuring creative time is blocked out and prioritized.
  • Serve as a collaboration partner by working closely with the VP of Creative design to ideate across all projects.
  • Collaborate with design teams to populate critical documents to be circulated across the business, including seasonal product packs.
  • Responsible for collating and managing the master cross-departmental critical path and following it.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree –preferred but not essential
  • 4-6 years of related experience (ex: producer/project manager/ executive assistant experience at a creative studio, agency, or in-house creative team)

Soft Skills

  • Excellent project management skills, with strong attention to detail from concept development through production for flawless end results.
  • A strategic mindset, with a demonstrated ability to understand business challenges and deliver creative solutions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, and strong business and copywriting skills is a huge plus.
  • Superior communication skills, the ability to be tactful and diplomatic but also firm and, above all, clear.
  • Strong team building, staff development, change management, and general leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with project management tools –Asana
