Breaking News Writer

About role:

We are seeking a highly driven Breaking News Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for filing real-time news and announcements for our leading Debtwire publication. This role is key to ensuring we deliver timely, accurate, and impactful updates to subscribers. You will also be expected to deliver news for ION Analytics’ other products, including Mergermarket and Dealreporter.

Key Responsibilites

• Filing earnings reports from stock exchanges and company press releases.
• Writing other news relevant to Debtwire subscribers from news outlets and public records.
• Compiling data for earnings calendars.
• Monitoring and recording earning calls.
• Produce clear and concise updates and reports, ensuring information is relevant, accurate, and aligned with our editorial standards.
• Work closely with internal teams to enhance our aggregation efforts and foster knowledge-sharing across departments.







Other duties

Sourcing and aggregating news on:

• M&A
• Anti-trust
• Equity capital markets transactions
• Shareholder activism
• Private equity funding

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous experience in journalism or a related role, particularly in financial reporting, is a strong advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• An ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources quickly and accurately.
• Proficiency in working with digital tools and platforms for news monitoring and aggregation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
