Brick/Block Mason

Responsibilities: - Measure distance from reference points - Set up and prepare construction sites by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding - Build and repair structures using materials such as concrete block, brick, and stone - Calculate angles and determining the vertical and horizontal alinement of courses - Lay brick/block using mortar as a binder and a trowel to level - Perform restoration work on existing structures - Work safely on scaffold at various heights Skills: - Proficiency in brick/block laying techniques - Minimum 3 years industry experience in commercial construction site - For higher hourly wage - able to build leads *skills test required* - Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved with masonry and the construction of buildings - Ability to work independently or as a team - Physically fit and able to stand for long periods Note: This is not an exhaustive list of skills required for the position of Mason.
