Essential Functions

Essential Functions• Assists BSA Officer by providing daily support for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) functions and assists in maintaining written procedures for software applications used for BSA/AML compliance.• Performs daily review of large currency transactions and creates required generation to IRS.• Performs Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence on new and high risk accounts.• Performs daily and monthly review of reports for BSA monitoring.• Ensures all customer identification is verified according to the Bank's Customer Identification Program (CIP).• Makes recommendations to change internal procedures to comply with BSA/AML laws and regulations.• Prepares and files Suspicious Activity Reports in compliance with BSA laws and regulations.• Conducts daily OFAC scan.• Accountable for the understanding of and adherence to operational controls, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with bank policies and related laws and regulations.• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) • Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) functions and regulatory compliance.• Knowledge of financial exposure relating to regulatory penalties associated with compliance violations.• Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office with the ability to learn other job specific software applications• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.• Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities• Skill in analyzing situations and applying critical thinking in order to resolve problems and decide on courses of action.• Ability to apply logic to solve problems and get the job done.• Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of customers (internal and external) and respond in an appropriate manner.• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and have positive relationships with customers (internal and external).• Ability to use one's time effectively and productively, especially at work.• Possesses the drive to work towards a standard of excellence.

Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.• Minimum of 2 (two) years of banking/financial institution, BSA, AML or related experience. • BSA/AML certifications (or related) preferred.
