The BSA/AML Specialist is responsible for supporting the Compliance and Risk functions (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, Compliance Monitoring, Compliance and Risk Design, Operational Risk, etc.) Specific job requirements vary and are set forth by the associate's manager to uphold regulatory compliance requirements and risk management expectations.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Performs tasks to support the Compliance and Risk groups such as research, regulatory filing, information gathering, monitoring, client support and other duties as assigned.
- Performs in-depth research and analysis to make decisions and recommendations (i.e. CTRs, 314a, Client activity and complaints, risk events, etc.)
- Regulatory filing (i.e. CTRs, 314a)
- Monitoring (i.e. CTRs, Monetary Instruments, OFAC, client activity and complaints, risk events, etc.)
- Provides subject matter expertise to associates through face to face interaction, telephone calls and emails
- May be asked to participate in special projects (i.e. Regulatory Examination preparation, release, disaster recovery, conversion)
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job:
- 1-3 years of BSA/AML/Fraud related experience
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task
- General ability to learn banking software (i.e. Jack Henry, Quantivate, Archer)
- Post High School education, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Degree of Independence and Decision-Making:
- Must be independent and capable of independent decision making while demonstrating ability to exercise good judgment in assessing the significance and relevance of identified compliance risks and timely escalation to reporting manager.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
- Frequently sits, stands, walks and drives
Compliance Statement: The associate is responsible for meeting all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, as well as all related First Financial Bank policies and procedures. This includes all Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements, as well as all other lending and deposit compliance requirements.
