BTO Summer Intern

Medica is a non-profit health insurance company headquartered in Minnetonka with offices in Madison, Duluth, St. Cloud, Fargo, and Omaha. The company is active across the heart of America and provider healthcare coverage in multiple markets. Medica is engaged in our communities through the charitable grant-making work of the Medica Foundation and active employee giving and volunteer programs.

Medica will host a hybrid, 12-week, paid Internship Program. Interns will have the opportunity to network within Medica and with other Interns through weekly Lunch-and-Learns and opportunities to hear from Executives. We strive to offer a well-rounded education of the inner workings of a health plan. Department Introduction:

The Business Transformation Office (BTO) offers an exciting opportunity for an Intern to learn about and participate in the strategic growth initiatives at Medica! Work could include being a part of on-boarding a new book of business in our commercial areas, learning about government programs (Medicare and/or Medicaid), as well as helping solve and improve various business problems and processes.

The person in this role will have the opportunity to learn about change management, organizational readiness, on-boarding of resources, and many other business processes. This role will also provide insight into a variety of business functions required to run a successful health plan (enrollment, billing, claims, reporting, documentation, compliance, etc.). The specific daily duties will be further assigned based on the candidate's particular area of study and interests.

Qualifications:

• Candidate should be pursuing Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, healthcare, or other related industry)

This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the Minnetonka office for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
