Budget Analyst
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve problems or issues that may span multiple projects or programs and may involve or affect more than one Directorate, Line of Business, or Service Unit.
- Perform budget and planning integration in support of efficient management and fiscally responsible business operations. Project consolidated short and long-term needs; prepare budget justifications and financial plans; justify resource requirements to meet cost performance goals.
- Identify and analyze the financial impacts of various projects, programs, and plans. Make recommendations to accurately allocate and re-allocate staffing and budget resources accordingly to maintain effective organizational performance and avoid anti-deficiency status.
- Establish financial goals, timetables, milestones, and other criteria to measure program achievement.
- Support the acquisition of hardware, software, equipment, and licenses for the Air Traffic Organization (ATO).
- Develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to ATO funding.
- Support the Capital Planning Investment Control (CPIC) process.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience as a program analyst or business analyst
- Experience with federal government budget process
- Strong PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint skills
- Excellent communication to a diverse audience both orally and written
- Ability to brief high level executives
- Strong analytical skills required
- Ability to work from high-level requirements through detailed specifications
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team setting required
- Ability to work well in dynamic, agile environments
- Applicants must possess or meet eligibility requirements for passing a background investigation for Secret clearance and FAA Suitability.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process
- Experience with FAA National Airspace Systems (NAS) systems
- Experience with FAA financial systems
- End-to-end understanding of the FAA budget development lifecycle
- Experience with Smartsheet
Education
- BA in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
