Overview:

We are seeking a Building Engineer with expertise in HVAC/Refrigeration systems for commercial buildings or manufacturing facilities. The Building Engineer will be the lead HVAC professional on the facilities team, sharing knowledge and partnering with team members to perform the proper preventative and troubleshooting procedures for our HVAC systems. The right candidate enjoys a dynamic workday with exposure to routine electrical and plumbing work, along with inspection, maintenance, and repair of the building’s mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Leads HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Supports inspection, maintenance and repair of building’s mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing, and production machinery. 
• Uses expertise, blueprints, manuals, and research to diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions.
• Updates the maintenance management system with accurate and comprehensive data.
• Understands 5S principles for organization/cleanliness.
• Partners with contractors and vendors as needed.
• Utilizes standard operating procedures, follows safety protocols, and supports the team.

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

• EPA Universal Certification, Ozone Depletion Prevention, Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Ops & Maintenance, Construction, Facilities Maintenance and/or Building Engineering role.
• Ability to use specialty hand tools, specialty diagnostic tools, and knowledge of maintenance shop practices with experience equivalent to Journeyman level (Electrical and Mechanical Equipment systems) and possess basic computer proficiency skills required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or vocational or trade school/college.
