Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong technical, testing and consulting skills to join a fun, supportive and dedicated team that provides systems support for a California State client. This career opportunity is located in Sacramento, CA but is 100% Remote.
The person who fills this position will join the team primarily to help with batch support, triaging service desk tickets and lead design changes. This work requires an understanding of the client's back-end business processes. A strong understanding of SQL is required.
The candidate will also be responsible for designing and executing system test scripts to validate defect fixes and new functionality within a given release schedule. By assuming this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a lead Subject Matter Expert position.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for duties that include:• Providing on-call functional support during nightly batch processing, which includes analyzing batch failures and assisting operational and development peers with resolution as needed. • Analyzing and resolving service tickets• Collaborating with other business analysists, subject matter experts and developers to determine solutions for new or improved functionality• Documenting new or improved functionality• Designing and executing test scripts• Providing functional support for other testers

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required experience includes:• Four-plus years' experience with State or local government projects• Two-plus years' experience with automated payroll/financial systems• Familiarity with batch processing and support• Sound knowledge of concepts like exception handling and job resolution• Experience in defect management and triage processes• Experience in creating and updating online user procedures• Familiarity with web services and interfaces• Ability to work closely with client to establish requirements for system improvements

Desired qualifications include:• Experience with creating and executing test plans, test scenarios/cases• Experience contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle• Detail oriented with a commitment to producing high quality work• Self-motivated with excellent planning experience • Works well independently and within a team environment• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Experience with writing and executing SQL statements• Solid skills in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and SQL• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence• Knowledge of Advantage HRM and/or Financial software

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $56,000-$110,000*
