Business Analyst

About the Team:

Data Management is a function within Life & Health Business Management Americas. The team is responsible for collecting, mapping, and making data accessible to stakeholders. The team is also responsible to leverage "big-data" platform to enhance analytics capabilities for Life & Health function for Americas.

About the Role:

In this role you will have the following key business responsibilities:

• Acquire, map, process, integrate and test client data
• Perform data quality checks during data consumption to ensure that end users can use the data with minimal downstream enrichments
• Connect with stakeholders to gain a full understanding of the problems they're looking to solve
• Manipulate large data sets and use them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions to inform strategic business decisions
• Analyze and determine best path for solving business opportunities/issues which may include process improvements, application/system enhancements and/or end-user training
• Liaise between IT and stakeholders to translate technical language into business terminology and vice versa

About You:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a commercial environment with data & business analysis
• Proficient with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
• Experience handling large volumes of data in both structured and unstructured formats
• Working knowledge of computer fundamentals & Microsoft Office with being highly proficient in Excel. Willing to take advantage of available computer programs & tools to maximize productivity.

• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL techniques

• Data-driven and curious: likes to learn, ask questions, and importantly leverage deep data to make smart, quick decisions
• Proven decision-making skills, detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong strategic, analytical, and conceptual capabilities
• Bachelor of Science or other relevant degree

Nice to have:

• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of insurance
• Experience in application development (Python/R) is a plus
