Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst for SecurityMetrics, you will work on products, tools, and solutions for employees within SecurityMetrics. At SecurityMetrics, a Business Analyst aims to improve and maintain the processes and systems within the company.

As a business analyst for SecurityMetrics, you will be responsible for innovating, implementing, and supporting strategic initiatives for the internal systems and tools that support our growth. You will collaborate across departments such as engineering, product teams, IT, marketing, sales, and finance to seek out and help implement systems for improved efficiency and productivity in the business. A business analyst understands various processes within the company, and employees of the company become your customers. You will work to improve the company's inside processes with the goal of improving worker efficiency and reducing costs, all while having fun.

Our ideal candidate is a detailed planner and expert communicator. With organizational and project goals lighting the way, our business analysts should be meticulous in their documentation and engaging in how they work with their internal customers.

Objectives of this Role

• Ensure that SecurityMetrics is focusing on high-value, strategic investments in our business
• Drive identification of requirements across departments and processes
• Translate internal needs and issues into clear, executable deliveries
• Development teams have clear direction; rework is minimized
• Ensure that stakeholders are informed and confident in company priorities

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Partner with other stakeholder teams across departments to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way
• Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements continuously, and maintain systems processes
• Product owner for internal systems, writing detailed Jira issues and assigning relative priority to bugs and issues
• Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
• Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with internal partners for optimized systems integration, and respond to questions and concerns from management with supporting research and recommendations

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in an analytics and systems development capacity
• 2+ years experience in a scrum/agile development environment
• Proven ability to influence others with no direct organizational reporting
• Proven analytical abilities
• Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
• Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Competent with charting tools and flow diagrams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Salesforce, email systems, and other internal systems
• Some proficiency in SQL
• Strong working knowledge of process diagramming
• Capabilities in project management and user-testing
