Business Analyst

Job Description

At SmartRent, we owe our success to the efficiency of our organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced Business Analyst to help us find innovative ways to improve our operational efficiency across all teams and departments. 

As a Business Analyst, you will review the company’s policies, procedures and functions to find areas of improvement. To do this, you will have to review company data, build reports based on your findings, collaborate with key internal stakeholders, and recommend programs to improve the company’s performance metrics. We’re looking for people who have a sharp business mind and proven success working across multiple departments on complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with high performing teams within a time-sensitive and demanding environment to understand and enhance our operational KPIs
• Collect and organize information from various sources like computer data, financial histories, sales logs, purchase orders, etc.
• Host structured meetings with key internal stakeholders to uncover inefficiencies and deliver meeting minutes to assign action items for all participants
• Identify and suggest solutions to problems across various fields or specialized areas in the business
• Use statistical methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems
• Advise managers and other stakeholders on findings and the various pathways they can take to address the problem
• Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
• Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a Business Analyst, Project Management, or consultant role
• Ability to work with a team in a high-volume and fast-paced software company environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects, set meetings with agendas, and provide insights to internal stakeholders at every level of the organization
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated with a deep affinity for problem solving, always challenging the status quo and never settling for how something ‘has always been done’
• Mathematical skills to process complex calculations
• Analytical skills to process large amounts of data
• Critical thinking to determine what data and information is useful for the task
• Problem-solving skills to find multiple viable solutions for a challenge
• Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; we use Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Zoom and Slack daily

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of management software programs, including Salesforce, NetSuite, Zendesk, Jira, and lucid
• Experience working for a SaaS technology company or in a startup environment
• Experience in Property Management, Leasing, or Hospitality
• Technical understanding of how smart home devices work and/or how to install them
