Job Description

We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

The Business Analysis & Quality Team at Komodo Health plays a crucial role in ensuring the custom software solutions we deliver to our customers meet business needs, functional requirements, and quality standards. This integrated team is responsible for both gathering and refining business requirements and rigorously testing the final solution, creating a seamless connection between business objectives and technical execution. By leveraging their holistic understanding of both business requirements and quality standards, this team helps reduce project ambiguities, streamline workflows, and ensure our software solutions meet customer expectations for functionality, reliability, and user experience.

Business Analysts are essential to effectively bridge the gap between defining business needs and ensuring these needs are fulfilled by the solutions we design for our customers. They enhance project efficiency, reduce misunderstandings, and ensure our software solutions provide real value and high-quality user experiences.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Proactively communicating and collaborating with project team members and key stakeholders to produce high-quality, detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that set a solid foundation for development and testing
  • Conducting gap analysis, assessing business processes, and recommending enhancements that align with project objectives
  • Serving as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals
  • Continuously improving testing coverage and efficiency by suggesting new techniques/tools and helping incorporate them into the overall QA strategy
  • Developing and executing comprehensive testing plans and test scripts that align closely with business and functional requirements
  • Gaining a deep understanding of core product functionality

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for …

  • Translating business needs into clear, actionable, and detailed user and functional requirements
  • Producing and maintaining high-quality requirements, supporting documentation, and acceptance criteria
  • Designing comprehensive testing plans and test scripts based on requirements to ensure testing is completed accurately and on time
  • Logging and tracking defects effectively and collaborating with project teams to prioritize and resolve them efficiently
  • Adapting requirements and test scripts to accommodate evolving project needs and changes, ensuring alignment with business goals despite modifications
  • Soliciting feedback from stakeholders and end-users to continually improve both requirements-gathering and testing processes
  • Providing traceability from requirements to test scripts to confirm software solutions meet all specified requirements and quality standards

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Extensive consulting experience
  • Skilled in using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar documentation platforms to create clear and detailed user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and other project artifacts
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and developing supporting documentation
  • Hands-on experience in testing planning, execution, and defect tracking
  • Refined problem-solving and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to seamlessly connect and translate between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced, ambiguous work environments
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities, capable of managing BA and QA responsibilities simultaneously

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Salesforce business analysis, solutioning, configuration, and/or QA experience
  • Lifesciences, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare industry experience
  • Familiar with Agile practices and iterative development cycles, including sprint planning and backlog management
  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), Salesforce Business Analyst, or Agile
  • Experience with QA tools such as Selenium, TestRail, or Postman, and a good understanding of both manual and automated testing techniques
