Business Analyst

The Business Analyst position will support the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center managing complex, high-profile, and exciting programs and projects. Support will require business analysis skills, focused on planning, to ensure product/project goals, functionality, and customer specifications and expectations are met and managed; as well as ensure that processes are properly documented. Additionally, the Business Analyst will be the liaison between the client and technical teams and drive innovative solutions, leveraging best practices and practical business analysis principles.

 Duties will include:

Collecting and analyzing project business requirements, documenting them to define and inform the project team and/or client

Evaluating data collected through task analysis, business process improvement, interviews, surveys, and meetings

Preparing accurate and detailed documentation, including project plans, requirement specifications, user interface guides, job aids, and functional specification documents

Communicating effectively with internal teams and external clients to assist in the delivery of project deliverables, including functional requirements

Effectively documenting the acquired results of analysis and workflows, with an emphasis on data visualization tools and techniques

Validating data and document and report discrepancies

Conducting quality assurance analyses on documented processes and their features and functionality

Managing change requests related to project plans to meet agreed upon deadlines

Experience with building test case scenarios using an Automated Testing tool (Selenium or similar)

Experience with tools used to help teams plan, assign, track, report and manage work (JIRA or similar)

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, or any related field from an accredited institution with 5+ years of relevant work experience

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (self-starter) and or with a team for a common goal

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, as well as experience with strategic planning and project planning and implementation

Ability to think both abstractly and analytically, with an emphasis on problem-solving

Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information from a variety of sources, often requiring research skills and creativity

Proficient skills in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & SQL

Ability to work calmly and constructively under pressure and meet deadlines

Ability to manage and keep track of multiple tasks simultaneously

Must have good attention to detail and be well-organized

Demonstrated trustworthiness
