BUSINESS ANALYST
Houston, Texas
We are CURRENTLY HIRING a Business Analyst to contribute their talents to our growing Finance team.
You will:
- Act as a financial liaison focused on supporting, understanding, and communicating the historical, planned, and projected financial metrics of the company's departments.
- Perform routine financial functions, including weekly P&L analyses (flash), monthly accounting close, and monthly forecasting.
- In conjunction with the Finance management team, design, coordinate, and execute the annual budgeting process.
- Support the Finance department with reporting, project assistance, and ad hoc support
- Build and maintain professional relationships with the supported departmental management.
- Provide departmental and inter-departmental action plan committees and other cross-functional groups with financial, analytical, and strategic support.
- Play an integral role in fostering a winning team atmosphere in the Finance department.
- Undergraduate degree with a major in finance or accounting preferred. MBA and/or CPA is a plus. Three to five years of financial analysis and/or media industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, etc.). Hyperion Essbase experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, while establishing and building relationships with outside departments. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
- Must have the willingness to learn and participate in self-training and company's training program.
- Must be able to anticipate the planning, information, and analysis needs of department managers and remain flexible if those needs change.
- Must be diplomatic and foster a team atmosphere within Finance and with other departments.
