Business Analyst, (Contract)

Summary 

Codazen is looking for a Business Analyst for a 3-6 month contract with potential to hire for a Hybrid role in Irvine, Ca. This position is open to local candidates only.  The candidate should be excited to take on challenges in a growing and fast-paced environment. The candidate should have technical understanding and experience supporting software product development principles and processes. The Business Analyst will ensure that software products and experiences delivered meet the client’s needs and goals. You will be responsible for working with product managers to understand product strategy and goals, make recommendations, and be a key contributor towards the team’s success in achieving project goals.   

This role is responsible for maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure that the Agile teams are working on tasks that maximize business value. You will be responsible for creating effective, actionable user stories to drive software product development. Having a detail-oriented mind-set and ability to effectively communicate within a cross-functional environment is a requirement. 

 
Requirements 

• Facilitate conversations with Product Managers to understand, document, and solve business needs. 
• Collaborate with Design and Development teams to document business requirements, product plans, risks, and estimates. 
• Analyze and bridge functionality gaps while constantly testing and documenting bugs or enhancement recommendations. 
• Identify and understand product risks and severity.  Work with Product Managers to clarify requirements and mitigate risks.   
• Lead task prioritization and backlog grooming with cross-functional teams. 
• Construct user stories with well-defined requirements and confirm business requirements are satisfied upon the completion of development.  
• Facilitate and support collaboration and effective workflow between project team members. 

Qualifications 

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in information science, computer science or equivalent experience 
• 2-4 years of experience in Business Analysis  
• Proven success contributing to the delivery and release of consumer-facing digital projects or enterprise software products 
• Experience collaborating with design and engineering teams 
• Experience in managing business requirements processes, including documentation of functional requirements, process flow creation, and user acceptance testing 
• Strong understanding of business process analysis, system analysis, and data analysis 
• Knowledge and experience with the various types of software testing 
• Collaborative attitude, stellar communication skills, and a results-driven mindset 
• This is a Full Time Contract Role, 3-6 months
• This is a hybrid role; 3 days a week on-site out of Irvine, CA.  
• Candidate should be local to Irvine, Ca. and/or Orange County, Ca. 

 Plus 

• Familiarity with the Scrum and Agile methodologies  
• Familiarity with UX/Design principles 
• Experience on web/mobile development projects 
• Certified Scrum Product Owner  
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
