BASIC PURPOSE: Perform business analysis activities for the Data Engineering team, including requirements elicitation, tracking, clarification and communication, specification writing, recommending, and validating solutions. This position will focus on business analysis related to the delivery of trusted data to support multiple lines of business and cross-functional needs for the Love's Family of Companies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS:

  • Analyze and document as-is and to-be processes, data and systems utilizing appropriate diagramming and documentation methodologies
  • Elicit, communicate and manage requirements
  • Working knowledge of business areas supported (data analysis process, data development process, etc.) to help identify and recommend system solutions
  • Understand integration points between internal and external systems relevant to business processes and systems supported
  • Understand and ensure that quality standards are met relevant to documentation and solution delivery - complete solution specifications and functional design documents, acceptance criteria in user stories and other forms of requirements documentation as needed
  • Work with technical resources to deliver solutions, troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement, including error handling and monitoring
  • Creation and execution of test plans and scripts in support of QA testing the solution delivery
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and recommend resolutions
  • Work with senior team members and business leads to prioritize work
  • Clearly communicate work status to business leads, manager, and other stakeholders
  • Work on project delivery and support once solutions are in production
  • Identify tasks and resources necessary to engage in delivery of solutions
  • Identify error handling required to monitor solutions
  • Identify trends and exceptions in processes and make recommendations for course of action
  • Fundamental understanding of data warehousing principles
  • Experience with various Data Management architectures like Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Hub, Data Vault and the supporting processes like Data Integration, Governance, and Metadata Management
  • Experience working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building data pipelines and integrating datasets using traditional data integration technologies, including ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, message-oriented data movement, and API-based data acquisition
  • Responsible for the identification and qualification of source data to satisfy master and transactional data requirements for the target warehouse

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Experience:
    • Experience with cloud data warehouses, such as Snowflake
    • Experience writing and understanding complex SQL code
    • Experience working with DevOps capabilities like version control, automated builds, testing and release management using tools like Git
    • Experience with ETL tools
  • Preferred Experience:
    • SQL Server 2012 experience a plus
    • SAP Hana experience a plus
    • Tableau experience a plus
    • Power BI experience a plus
    • R/Python experience a plus
    • Familiarity with replication software a plus
  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor's degree in Business with MIS or technology related degree
    • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
