Position Details:
Grainger is looking for an experienced Business Analyst, to work with business and IT partners to audit service level agreement adherence, document requirements, and perform fact-based analysis in several areas. Analysts provide recommendations based on their investigation and help Grainger respond to environment. You have skills that allow you to quickly make sense of multiple data sources and present synthesized facts and data in insightful ways. Analysts must be aware of the technology and business impacts of their recommendations. This Business Analysts will be responsible for: research, problem management and resolution, creating and reviewing dashboards and reports, documentation and ITSM process auditing. Analysts will break down complex ideas and issues, identifying insights and communicating them to a wide audience through presentations and visualizations.
Job responsibilities. The operational Business Analyst is responsible for auditing service management and GTG partners, creating trend analysis, implementing continuous improvement activities, and tracking and reporting operational metrics. The Business Analyst provides support across the organization and can understand and articulate ITSM processes, analysis, and requirements. You will identify trends using data and achieve results to improve the metrics based on the data obtained.
You will be reporting to the Manager of Business Systems within Grainger Technology Group.
You Will:
- Process Modeling - Able to model and communicate complex processes within a department.
- Value Articulation - Prioritize stories to maximize return on investment. Share BV with teams and team members.
- End-user Training Materials - Updates operational training materials.
- Create artifacts and deliver data-driven recommendations easily digestible by business and technology partners.
- Knowledge Transition - Performs the transition of knowledge between Grainger's three levels of support.
- Research - Conducts industry and internal analysis.
- Review and evaluate operational needs, identifies alternative solutions and make recommendations to use all IT components including automation.
- Work directly with GTG support owners to apply ITSM process standards.
- Work across multiple GTG teams and departments to standardize operation processes and reporting (i.e., performance reporting, ITSM processes
- Work with contracted partners; reports on and analyze data and reporting to ensure all contractual Service level agreements and expected measures are met.
- Communication
- Project Planning - Plans, designs and implements processes, to support planned and unplanned projects.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validations including defining test plans and implementing test cases, identifying expected results, analyzing system test results and troubleshooting defects.
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent related experience
- Experience with incident management systems and reporting, and project management (ServiceNow, SharePoint, Jira, Power BI)
- At least 2 years of experience in business or operational analysis, trending analysis and process improvement
- Experience prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) while providing expertise in solving business processes and/or technical problems based on the audience.
