The Scoop:
The Business Analyst II is an integral member of the operations team focused on MedImpact Direct's revenue stream and cost structure. The analyst provides detailed, timely and accurate prescription claims and business data analysis and pricing information to assist departments in business-decision making, risk management and to obtain and maintain clients. This individual aids in delivering key financial initiatives by providing analytics on new client deals, monitoring current client profitability, maintaining proper accounting of all operational activities, & reporting on standard key performance indicators for internal and external uses. Ensure activities are aligned with corporate strategies and focused on MedImpact Direct's bottom-line performance.
What You Get To Do:
• Performs reconciliation of all financial activities including cash inflows and outflows for proper accounting
• Supports MedImpact Direct Mail and Specialty leadership with all financial and operational analytical needs
• Prepares a variety of reports and forecasts to analyze expenditure and revenue trends
• Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by business owners, or in support of identified business objectives, with special focus on improving gross margin and increasing EBITDA
• Interprets and analyzes data outputs to explain possible anomalies that exist within the data to management
• Provides revenue estimates and profit & loss analysis for new clients based on identified requirements
• Identify cost factors for MedImpact Direct, and provide on-going evaluation of standard business costs
• Proactively identifies opportunities to use analysis and reporting tools to achieve MedImpact Direct's business objectives, support business information needs to promote improved decision-making and enhance staff efficiency
• Ensures that analytics are complete and accurate to defined specifications
• Provide support to various departments across the organization including Sales, Underwriting/Analytics, Accounting/Finance, and Operations
• Conducts analytics for current clients with current or proposed new pricing
• Manages price lists to utilize in re-pricing files to determine overall value for proposals of new and existing business
• The assessment would help determine savings potential for client
• Effectively uses various software platforms to QC work and investigate non-optimal outcomes
• Maintains technical skills on appropriate software applications (Cognos, SSRS, etc.) to provide optimum level of support
Education and/or Experience
For consideration candidates will need:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• Two (2) to four (4) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Requires proficiency and working knowledge of finance, accounting and business analysis
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel required. They must have analytic skills using complex Excel functions (PivotTables, VLookup, Filters, Macros, etc.) as well as other database manipulation. An individual with experience in creating PowerPoint presentations is a plus. Basic programming skills (SQL or other) is preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
It would be optimal for this person to have demonstrated experience in mail order and/or specialty pharmacy operations. Thorough understanding of business analysis; prior experience analyzing medical and/or pharmacy claims including prior PBM experience are highly desired; clear and concise communication skills required; broad knowledge of financial, statistical and health analytic principles required; must be detail-oriented, organized and have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision; basic understanding of concept of financial risk.
