Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to identify issues, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
  • Have experience using an application lifecycle management tool such as Azure Dev Ops
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment while providing consistent application lifecycle management
  • Is comfortable with and can successfully work on a geographically distributed project team
  • Provide outstanding customer experience to business partners and coordinate outstanding customer service across the solution team while delivering solutions
  • Experience with multiple development methodologies including Agile and waterfall
  • Demonstrated client service experience and outstanding level of professionalism in providing client support
  • Some experience with relational database and large, complex datasets
  • Solid computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new applications and programs
  • Preference for experience producing interactive executive dashboards and/or BI data visualization techniques
  • Preference for knowledge of data query language, data definition and data manipulation


Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be an expert in team applications and be able to teach and demo all functionality
  • Work with team lead, product owner and stakeholders to identify, understand, and capture requirements; consolidate input from business and technical stakeholders
  • Record requirements in the backlog and clearly explain to development team; be the bridge between development team and business
  • Work with product owner and team lead to prioritize the backlog and prepare for upcoming sprints
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions to prepare team for upcoming features
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint demo & retrospective, sprint planning
  • Work closely with quality engineer to test features and ensure functionality and accuracy
  • Remove impediments/ guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to help with the situation
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Provide support to users by troubleshooting and working with development team to resolve issues
  • Manage support tickets and coordinate issue resolution
  • Manage release activities and required documentation and approvals; coordinate and execute code releases to production outside business hours
  • Manage project management documentation and status updates and reports
  • Create application documentation and reporting as requested
  • Conduct risk assessment of strategic, technical, finance, or business factors impacting the project. Formulate and take corrective actions to mitigate deviations to the project plans and alert management of potential problems when appropriate
  • Potential to use SQL DB to pull data and reporting metrics; maintain reports in Power BI
  • Other duties as assigned


Education/Experience Required
  • Bachelor degree preferred (Information Technology related discipline preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, process developer, or software engineer
  • Experience working with business units or other IT teams to gather requirements and translate them to a development team
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • Previous experience as a team lead preferred
