The Business Analyst Intern is a member of our Technology organization, who will work directly with a Business Analyst (BA) mentor as well as partners from diverse backgrounds (UX, Product Management, Engineering, as well as business partners and customers) to drive technology and designs that are aligned with our eCommerce Business Platform and Technology strategies.

This is a full-time summer position with the potential for ongoing summer opportunities for the duration of the student's academic career and may lead to a full time role upon graduation for the superior performer.

Project Examples: As a key partner of the Technology organization you will work closely with our product development teams to deliver a high degree of customer value via the innovations we are part of. Project examples:

  • Investigate and design solution/product that supports growth in new markets.
  • Research and develop business plans for new products and services.
  • Build strategies to address changes within our core market.

Strategy, Relational & Leadership

Partner closely with a BA mentor to:

  • Identify, obtain and analyze required data to support the project design and help drive leadership buy in.
  • Identify and analyze areas for operational and process improvements on a project.
  • Execute on a common reusable collaborative product and design approach to drive results.
  • Participate in the BA/UX Practice in Technology.

Problem & Solution Analysis

  • Apply both a business and a technology perspective to understand the big picture of the enterprise along with a good understanding of organizational processes and IT resources.
  • Learn and apply:
    • Design thinking tools & techniques to define, design and build solutions focused on business outcomes over outputs.
    • Business process & workflow techniques focused on defining the future and current state process diagrams to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Quantitative and qualitative data to understand more about what our users are doing in our products and why. Use this data to help the team identify what the right solution is.
    • Best practices and guidelines outlined in the design system in order to design scalable, reusable, efficient and consistent experiences for our customers.

Collaboration & Cross Functional

  • Work with cross functional teams consisting of product managers, engineers, operations, marketing & business partners to understand and solve complex problems. Ensure solutions align with Business and Technology objectives.
  • Work closely with the BA mentor and UX Team to understand more about UX best practices and guidelines in order to empower cross functional teams to build great customer experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a business or technology degree; preferably but not limited to MIS or Information Technology.
  • 2 or more semesters remaining before graduation.
  • Strong record of initiative-taking and leadership in a work setting and/or extracurricular activities.
