We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated person to join our team as a Business Analyst in either our Chicago, IL, Princeton, NJ, or Washington, D.C. offices (or remote). As a Business Analyst you will play a key role on project teams, comprised of technical and non-technical staff, to document business requirements, develop test plans and perform testing procedures. As part of the Systems and Technology department, this position requires a high degree of technical aptitude related to systems and software development and a willingness to develop technical knowledge to meet project demands.

Responsibilities:

• Work with project teams to develop written business requirements from verbal conversations.
• Serve as a liaison between project teams and technical staff.
• Manage and create tasks derived from business requirements.
• Document business processes and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Identify technology solutions that may address business requirements.
• Develop processes for project implementation.
• Assist with project management tasks (scheduling and coordination of activities).
• Coordinate with quality assurance staff to develop acceptance criteria.
• Mentor junior staff.

Position Requirements:

• Strong educational background and a B.A./B.S degree required.
• Experience with software and system development, data and databases.
• 3 years of experience gathering, managing, and documenting business requirements.
• Ability to translate verbal communications to written requirements.
• Experience writing and grooming user stories.
• Ability to understand project plans and clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to execution of tasks of varying complexity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others.
• Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure.
• Desired but not required: Web design (UI), user experience (UX), SQL, Atlassian suite, Visio.
• Basic understanding of data analysis, survey development, or system design techniques.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $63,000 to $90,000. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance. Must be able to pass a public trust background investigation.
