The Business Applications team performs a critical function for Fictiv by managing software that is part of the framework used to conduct day-to-day business. This team writes code to provide customized application configuration and data structures, customize workflows, implement monitoring and alerting, secure and control access, and integrate business software with Fictiv platform. Functional areas supported include: Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Customer Support. The Business Applications team partners closely with cross functional stakeholders to ensure that business systems software is properly secured and has managed change control to meet each of their needs.

This team sets the stage for ensuring Fictiv's business is delivering on KPIs and goals. This team provides inputs for Fictiv’s strategic decision making.

Impact in this Role

The Business Applications team implements business software across Fictiv’s departments.

As the Business Analyst (Sales & Marketing) you will engage with the Revenue Operations and Marketing Operations teams to drive implementation of business process workflows and systems integrations to create value for the Sales and Marketing department at Fictiv.

You will be accountable for capturing, documenting and understanding business requirements and workflows, translating these into implementation plans with the applications team, creating roadmaps and delivery schedule timelines and communicating scope, trade-offs and outcomes to stakeholders. You will drive the technical implementation team in scrum to fulfill your roadmap including, creating epics, stories and sprints in Jira, conducting daily stand-ups, coordinating delivery across multiple cross-functional teams and ensuring that all applications shipped are thoroughly tested and meet all outlined business requirements. You will conduct any necessary training for stakeholders on implementations your team creates. You will own communications with stakeholders to ensure they are aware of all timelines, scope and any changes.

From time to time you will be involved in assisting in software selection and vendor selection for various rollout projects. You will be a resource for providing thought leadership for all business application solutions to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. You will  develop strong trust based cross-functional stakeholder relations.

Your team will drive integrations between systems to implement business process workflows that are auditable, scalable and secure. You will own the source data quality for your business applications. You will establish uptime SLAs and implement proper support protocols.

This role requires experience working with business applications, including Salesforce, Marketo and the ecosystem of applications and plugins supporting these systems. Ideally you have some experience with integration platforms such as Mulesoft. And you have an understanding of multi-tenant Enterprise Platform systems.

You are responsible for ensuring your teams adhere to all Software Engineering best practices for development, testing, staging and production release of code. Additionally, you will partner closely with the Product, Engineering and Infrastructure teams to provide the team guidance and specific expertise on your areas of specialty with regard to capabilities, standards, customization and integration approaches.

You will partner with the VP of Business Applications to build and grow the Business Applications organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work with Sales and Marketing Operations stakeholders to analyze, document and communicate system and business processes requirements for Salesforce and it's supporting systems.
  • Work with the implementation team team to convert business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Develop implementation plans and roadmaps, work with IT applications team to break down roadmaps into epics and decompose into user stories.
  • Be an instrumental player of the IT Applications team throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Ensure that user stories include validation criteria which reasonably covers all areas necessary for complete testing of new functionality.
  • Facilitate and validate the development of solutions to satisfy customer’s business needs.
  • Conduct software presentations and provide technical support to existing stakeholders.
  • Verifying completion of requirements with stakeholders and implementation team, ensuring expectations are appropriately met.
  • Listing out risks and constraints in relation to identified requirements.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert in stakeholder meetings.
  • Interview and interface with cross functional teams to obtain needed business requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders and the implementation team to prioritize the backlog.
  • Document functional, nonfunctional, and operational specifications.
  • Document user stories and provide technical review and validation of requirements.
  • Document workflows and processes based on business requirements, work with process engineering team to ensure these fit into overall end to end workflows.
  • Support the collection and reporting of requirements related metrics.
  • Provide additional support and guidance during the implementation phase, including development of training resources.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and developing strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.

Desired Traits

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, or Computer Engineering, and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience capturing requirements, writing user stories and  working with business processes and re-engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Business Analyst and/or Salesforce.com setup and configuration.
  • Hands-on experience working on the implementation of a new Salesforce instance or working on multiple large-scale projects in existing Salesforce instances.
  • Experience with business processes analysis in a system engineering or software application environment.
  • Experience with Marketo/Salesforce integrations and Marketo administration is highly desirable.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience working with various organizational units and a proven track record of working with IT and Business stakeholders.
  • Broad multi-disciplinary information technology familiarity with proven systems deployment experience.
  • Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.
  • Personal time management skills and ability to meet individual and team deadlines.
