JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of this role will be to maintain and enhance the Oracle Planning cloud application and its processes within the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) footprint at Southern Company. Oracle Planning serves as the Budgeting, Forecasting, and Management Reporting solution. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions utilizing best practice standards. The person for this role will be able to understand the overall Oracle Planning architecture at Southern Company and provide hands-on support to business partners (end users and team members within the support organization). This position will also provide supplemental support for applications and processes that are integrated into Oracle Planning (Oracle General Ledger, UI Planner, PowerPlant, SHIPS/HCM, Oracle Projects, Third Party applications). The individual will need strong interpersonal skills and be able to successfully communicate to a variety of stakeholders as well as possess a collaborative, team-oriented mindset to provide timely support and solution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Financial Analyst
- Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of ERP/EPM systems experience (preferably Oracle)
- Proven working knowledge and understanding of processes and procedures related to financial planning, budgeting, and management reporting.
- Functional expertise in management reporting values and what those values represent to client organizations.
- Familiarity with Accounting, Finance, and Treasury financial application systems and processes is required.
- Functional and Technical expertise in management of Oracle EPM systems at an enterprise scale including Oracle Data Management, EPM Automate and Smart View.
- Experience in providing end-user support to multiple user groups in a timely manner.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Oracle Smart View experience is required.
- Strong understanding of data movements between systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies is required.
- Motivated to keep abreast of Oracle's EPM cloud roadmap and key functionality to identify opportunities for enhancements with the current process or system. Additionally, the ability to translate key release updates to business partners.
- Experience with collaborating with vendors and implementation partners.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
- Ability to support the end-to-end process of designing and implementing system changes. (i.e., create functional requirements, build prototypes and mockups, create process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), test, and deployment).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Must possess ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.
- Effective liaison between end-users, budgeting support resources, and technology organization for application support, prioritizing issues, patches, and enhancements.
- Responsible for working with key business partners in the implementation of changes to Oracle Planning processes and procedures / code changes, including testing and remediation of issues, and deployments.
- Serving as an Oracle Planning (EPM) application Subject Matter Expert and as a key partner with the TO Center of Excellence organization for Enterprise Solutions application changes.
- Application Management (40%)
- Create/modify ad-hoc enterprise reports and forms.
- Create functional and technical requirements and prioritization of customizations.
- Perform application system configuration (E.g., Maintain data mappings, business rule management)
- Research and implement ways to increase efficiency using technology products.
- Perform affiliate and business enterprise-wide application data configuration (E.g., open/close cycle, turning on "admin access only")
- Create/maintain dimensions, attributes, user defined attributes, smart lists.
- Create/maintain metadata and data management mapping.
- Develop and maintain business help desk problem escalation procedures, and frequently asked question reference guides.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and understand current capabilities of the system.
- Provide direct end user problem resolution.
- Support monthly Oracle Planning processes and calendar activities.
- Maintain documentation and user guides.
- Ensure functional application configuration documentation is updated with all configuration changes implemented.
- Complete user acceptance testing
- Initiate and validate system data integrations with external systems.
- Application Monitoring (40%)
- Triage issues related to scheduled processes, interfaces, and reports (base level support)
- Perform reconciliations between systems (UI Planner, Power Plan, Oracle Planning, Oracle Financials) after integration activities.
- System Maintenance (20%)
- Identify and update functional regression test scenarios/scripts.
- Execute regression testing in Testing Environment
- Socialize functional regression testing results to impacted teams.
- Resolve functional and technical issues.
