Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a Business Architect to work closely with business process owners to identify areas where the business can improve by creating value for the customer, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste. Will work with their counterparts in IT to align technical solutions with business needs. Will research and analyze how the information and how the business is performed.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Follow a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing key views of the enterprise such as business, applications, data, and infrastructure.• Improve the business architecture strategy based on lessons learned and organizational changes• Document the tactical and strategic organizational goals and map them to metrics to provide ongoing governance• Describe the core and supporting business functions and processes of the organization• Identify and describe external entities such as customers, partners, and external systems that interact with the business• Describe which people, resources and controls are involved in the processes• Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships therein• Create and diagram value streams to visually describe steps in a business process and define the relationships to capabilities, actors, channels, pain points, root causes, IT systems and solutions, and events• Identify areas to improve processes and reduce waste using Lean Enterprise methods and techniques• Provide direct input into the planning and funding of IT solutions and initiatives• All other duties as assigned or directed

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Basic Qualifications:• Possess an enterprise-wide view of business, strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance• The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies• The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions• The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues• The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture• Extensive experience planning and deploying process improvements and IT automation• Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques• Experience using Microsoft Access or other relational database system• The ability to collect, store, relate, report, and manage data from a variety of sources in order to join all necessary elements of value streams• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations• Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus• Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities

Required Skills:• Ability to think thru the question and ask clarification about the question • Some Data Analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving• Capability to work with multiple teams and users for more than one project, at the same time,• Open and timely communication with team members• Good understanding with development life cycle, data architect, metadata management, data marts and related methodologies.• Able to multi-task under tight deadlines.

Education:• Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience or 5 years of experience in related field in lieu of a degree• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 - $161,600
