Role Summary
The Business Development Analyst role focuses on supporting the quotation process for complex projects (global / cross-divisional quotes, new product quotes, new location quotes, etc.), also supports larger corporate development projects (including new facility planning, M&A activities, partnerships, etc.) and preparation of other key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Adherence to Magna's Corporate Constitution, Employee Charter, Code of Conduct and Ethics, etc.
  • Incorporate an understanding of manufacturing cost elements to analyze and develop product cost models for complex automotive sub-assemblies for use in engineering estimates and quotations.
  • Support the team in development of Greenfield opportunities providing cost and input guidance
  • Create Executive Financial Summaries for New Business Quotes, highlighting key financial (EBITDA, ROI, IRR, etc) with detailed explanation on results.
  • Utilize cost models to assess return on investment for new technologies
  • Support divisions to ensure all quote assumptions are consistent for global quote submissions.
  • Business modeling / analyses using various financial models including Magna's quote capital analysis (QCA) tools.
  • As needed, provide support regarding potential new capital projects, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, alliances, and alternative business combinations
  • Enhance data analytics, methodologies, and models used in the function
  • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management

EDUCATION / SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to meet deadlines
  • Shown skills in problem solving, research, quantitative analysis and analytical working techniques
  • Advanced skills in creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets (Excel)
  • Good knowledge in word processing and presentation software programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated and detail orientated
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English, further relevant languages an advantage

EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant areas of study
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a finance function such as financial planning and analysis or related field
  • At least basic understanding of the automotive industry and ideally of manufacturing

Physical Demands / Work Environment
Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. May require travel.
