Business Development Associate

Forum One is looking for a Business Development Associate to join its Arlington, VA and remote Growth Team!

This role has responsibility for contributing to top-of-the-funnel and mid-funnel sales activity by surfacing and pursuing new business opportunities. On any given day, the Business Development Associate can expect to research and surface new business opportunities; make contact with new prospects and convert them to leads, and/or support the proposal development process.

In addition, learning the government-specific RFP and proposal coordination process will be part of your on-the-job training. As the Business Development Associate, you’ll assist with editing, rewriting, and formatting content for government proposals in collaboration with other members of the Growth team. 

What you’ll do:

• Reviewing, surfacing, and qualifying leads using public databases 
• Qualifying leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
• Contacting potential clients through cold calls and emails
• Building lead target lists based on research
• Formatting resumes and proposal templates
• Rewriting and tailoring existing proposal materials to meet new requirements
• Attending certain networking events (in-person or online)

What you bring to the table: 

• Ability to write, edit and format written documents to effectively communicate digital communications concepts 
• Prior experience in a role that requires writing and editing 
• Ability to organize and synthesize business intelligence information
• Effectively communicates (written and oral) with internal and external stakeholders and decision makers 
• Maintains reliable internet access and professional telework presence using telework tools and technology (Slack, Zoom, Google Calendar, etc.)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in English Composition, Digital Communications, Political Science, Business Management, Marketing, or other related field
• 1-3 years of professional experience 

What would be nice:

• Experience with the Google Applications (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.) 
• Experience using GovWin, Bloomberg Government, RFP Mart, Sam.gov, Govtribe
• Experience using ZoomInfo, Outreach.io, and/or Hubspot
• Experience with Salesforce CRM
