BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE (BDA) - Marketing Partnerships

So, you're interested in being a BDA, huh? Well, we should probably explain what a BDA does. Our Business Development Associate (BDA) aids our Head of Partnerships in researching, contacting, onboarding, evaluating, supporting and reporting on both potential and existing partners. Potential partners include trade groups, associations, schools, and other groups of like-minded people who want their clients, customers, students, or vendors to carry the peace of mind insurance protection we offer. As a member of the Partnerships team in our Marketing Department, you won't be selling any products or policies, just the fact that we're the best insurance partner they could ever hope for.

A Day in the Life of the Biz Dev Associate

While there may not be a "standard day" in the life of a BDA, most days consist of researching potential partners, doing outreach to select potential partners via email and phone, setting appointments with them and discussing our unique offering, following up on current partners' deliverables, updating our partnership webpages, calculating partnership potential, and helping report the ROI of current partners. You'll file any new partnerships in our contract management software (Outlaw), enter new partners into our CRM (Hubspot), and generally support our Head of Partnerships (his name is Troy-he's GREAT).

You may get drafted to do other partner-related tasks as needed, but you probably already knew that. Don't know how to do all of the things we mentioned? No worries. We'll show you how.

What You Need to Succeed

A truly successful BDA will be detailed, organized, and personable with a bias toward action.

If you're good at leveraging Google and LinkedIn, adept at tracking down the right person, brave enough to email and/or call them, and organized enough to keep contacts and contracts updated, this is your gig. Our dream person would be humble, hungry, smart, and proactive.

The Benefits & Pay

So, what's in it for you? Veracity offers 160 hours of PTO (sick or vacation) plus 2 floating holidays per year, 401(k) with a company match plan, health/dental/vision plans, and more. We do regular team activities, and lunches, and genuinely enjoy time with each other.

This is a full-time position starting at $20/hour with an additional and many times substantial quarterly performance bonus based on business sent to us from partners you both sign up and support. Total compensation for a full-time BDA is estimated to be between $45K - $70K/year. This position is either a work-at-home/remote or onsite at our Utah headquarters located in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Either way, we'll provide you with any equipment needed.

Work Schedule

No surprises here, the expectation is a 40-hour workweek. Since you have a life outside of work, there's flexibility when it comes to in-and-out times. You'll work with your manager on a schedule that fits your lifestyle and the team. This position can be remote, in-office, or blended (remote and in-office). You'll also work that out with your manager. Just know we're flexible.

Since this position can be remote, a relocation allowance isn't currently available.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research potential partners (trade associations/groups, companies, event organizers/promoters, etc.)
  • Reach out to select potential partners via email and phone to discuss their interest in partnering with us.
  • Assess both their needs and the potential ROI of partnering with these groups or companies.
  • Collaborate internally with our Head of Partnerships to ensure proper quality and quantity of "business discussions" with prospects.
  • Add and maintain contacts and contracts to Hubspot and Outlaw, respectively.
  • Report regularly on partnership performance and ongoing partnership discussions and deliverables.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing relationships with confidence and ease
  • Experience delivering on commitments
  • Experience with Hubspot or similar CRM software is a plus
  • Experience navigating agreements, contracts, and/or deliverables
  • Experience calculating business cases of potential outcomes
  • A willingness to learn new skills and software
