Personalis, Inc. is a leader in advanced cancer genomics for enabling the next generation of precision cancer therapies and diagnostics. The Personalis NeXT Platform® is designed to adapt to the complex and evolving understanding of cancer, providing its biopharmaceutical customers and clinicians with information on all of the approximately 20,000 human genes, together with the immune system, from a single tissue sample. In population sequencing, Personalis operates one of the largest sequencing operations globally and is currently the sole sequencing provider to Veterans Affairs' Million Veteran Program. To enable cancer and population sequencing, Personalis' Clinical Laboratory was built with a focus on clinical accuracy, quality, big data, scale and efficiency. The laboratory is GxP-aligned as well as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988-certified and College of American Pathologists-accredited.
Summary:
At Personalis, we are committed to providing clinicians with testing insights that take personalized medicine to the next level. The Business Development Associate Director will be responsible for territory development by promoting Personalis’ novel suite of molecular testing into oncology clinics. We are seeking passionate sales professionals with a track record of launching products and creating deep client relationships.Â
Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic business expansion/collaboration opportunities with the following:
- Major U.S. cancer centers and clinics / Top 20 largest oncology practices in the territory
- Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Academic Medical Centers (AMCs) within the specified territoryÂ
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory that will be inclusive of priorities, territory management, goal setting, etc.
- Continually analyze competitive landscape and environment within assigned accounts to determine trends and provide customer feedback to Personalis leadership
- Monitor performance of sales to ensure objectives are met
- Work effectively with individuals across multiple departments throughout Personalis
- Embrace, embody and represent the Personalis company culture at all times to external and internal constituents
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting with a history of proven past performance that has met and exceeded expectations.
- 3-5 years of experience working with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPO’s, large health systems, IHDN’s, and large oncology practices.
- Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at either a diagnostic, pharmaceutical or relevant biotechnology company.
- Ability to provide an integrated molecular testing solution using Personalis’ whole exome / genome sequencing technology to prospects and customers.
- Ability to engage in a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences while connecting client needs with GHI capabilities
- Comfortable communicating, presenting, selling at all account levels ( staff, clinician, administrator)
- Keen understanding of the payor and reimbursement environment in the oncology and diagnostic space
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and the evolving competitive landscape
- Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives
- Excellent knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics and targeted agents
- Effective and regular utilization of Salesforce.com
- Frequent travel ( > 50%) throughout the territory as needed
The hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 per year plus a commission plan, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
